The first church began in western Canada in Winnipeg, MB in 1903. The first church in eastern Canada was started in Toronto in 1908. In 1961 the Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Convention of Canada was incorporated to promote the work of the Ukrainian Baptist churches in Canada and to initiate projects to meet its goals and objectives.
The prime goal of the Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Convention of Canada is to spread the good news of the gospel message especially to people of Ukrainian descent who still understand their own language. The Convention seeks to find a variety of strategies to meet its goals.
Currently there are ten churches which are represented by the convention - five in eastern Canada and five in western Canada. The Convention publishes a magazine, Christian Herald as well as being involved with Mission to Ukraine. The Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Convention of Canada is seeking to increase the scope of its ministry and welcomes individuals who would be willing to get involved in this ministry.
